Turbulence!

AI Generated image of people waiving goodbye to a map of the United States.

Trump's first year of his second term has been nothing short of turbulent, and that's putting things mildly. Whether you agree with the principles of what he's saying or not is irrelevant. The methods in which he is attempting to achieve his goals are dictatorial and bullying, plain and simple. Not only is he attempting to strong-arm America's long-time nemeses, he's applying the same tactics to long-time allies and, even worse, to America's own citizens.

Due to these bullying and unpredictable tactics, people across the globe are turning Trump's slogan of "Make America Great Again" into "Make America Go Away." Even our allies of over 100 years or more are making the statements due to Trump's unnecessary, unreasonable, and unpredictable rhetoric and actions. To make matters worse, foes and allies alike are flocking to the very country Trump claims he wanted to counter: China. China is rapidly becoming the dominant force on the planet where every other country is going to for economic deals due in large part to tariff threats, amongst other things.

Donald Trump transformed to have an appearance like The Joker from the movie The Dark Knight.

America's place in the world has slid from the dominant force politically, militarily, and economically, to a complete laughing stock in the short span of 1 year. 250 years of building America into the shining light of the free world has been destroyed by 1 person in 1 year.

As was said very prominently in The Dark Knight, "Some men just want to watch the world burn." And in my opinion, this applies directly to Donald Trump.

But . . . who, in power, will stand up to Donald Trump before things spiral even further out of control?

To his credit, though, Donald Trump has been true to his own style of negotiation. While that may have worked well for him in th ebusiness. world to close real estate or corporate deals, it is not working well on the world political stage. Our allies are making deals with one another at a faster pace than ever before in history because, if nothing else, they are worried that the United States can no longer be relied upon for stability. Trump's style has sent everyone running to find alternatives because, after all, there's no guarantee that the next President (who could only be in office for 4 short years) will be any better (or worse). If you don't believe any of this, read on into the list in the next section.

365 Days, Countless Irreparable Damage

In Trump's second first 365 days in office, he's managed to:

  • Canada strikes a deal with China on E.V.'s to counter-balance U.S.A.. [ Article ]

  • European Union and India strike a deal to counter Trump tariff's. [ Article ]

  • Increase consumer prices on countless goods across the boards with tariffs, while claiming other countries are footing the bill. Fact: US consumers pay the bill, not other countries.

  • Make serious threats to long-standing USA allies that he is going to take over Greenland by any means necessary. [ Article ]

  • Illegally issued extreme tariffs on foes (ex: Russia) and friends (ex: United Kingdom) alike to try to force them all into deals that, in his public words, will "Make America Rich Again." [ Article ]

  • Eliminated critical funding to the United Nations and the World Health Organization, which stifles America's place as a leader on the global stage instead of strengthening it.

  • Upset arguably 50%+ of the United States population with his handling of extremely aggressive and immoral immigration reform, leading to the capture and deportation of immigrants.

  • Removed the leader of another country (Venezuela) without indisputable evidence that the United States had any right to do so, causing alarm and confusion among America's foes and allies alike. [ Article ]

  • Threatened to go to war with Iran over the country's own internal civil unrest despite no direct threat to the United States itself. [ Article ]

An Uncertain Future

Even if Trump is impeached today and immediately vacates office of the President, the damage he has done to America's credibility is already done and could take countless decades of concerted effort to repair it. What he has done is akin to the damage that the 4 bad Emperors of Rome did, which ultimately led to its downfall.

Due to everything that has transpired over the past year, there is already a growing threat of an economic war for dominance, with the U.S.A. and China slated to go to battle. The tides are already turning, with key markets from Europe to South America turning to do even more business with China while they wait out the U.S.A.'s erratic behavior. In reality, had Trump wanted to counter China's dominance, his best path would have been to have even closer ties with the European Union, with South America, and even with India. Just 1, and especially all 3 of those, could have easily toppled any attempt by China to become the dominant economic powerhouse it seeks to be. Instead, Trump decided to threaten all of them instead of find creative and productive ways to work with them.

As more and more countries the world over turn to one another, America will be left even more out in the cold.

A President Who Has Made Billions

Since taking office, Donald Trump's personal net worth, and that of his family members, has risen at a historic pace. At every turn, even beyond simple personal wealth, Trump has made his own personal ambitions clear. He's out for himself.

Take, for instance, Donald Trump's abition to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He made it well known that he thought he deserved it, and even more well known how upset he was when he lost out to the Venezuelan opposition leader, Machado, who ended up "gifting" the prize to him to try to coax him to helping her take charge in her home country.

Countries the world over that have business dealings with Trump and his family have caved to his every whim, from offering him a 747 airplane to expediting permits for a golf resort. At each turn, his family's wealth and influence in these regions has skyrocketed.

Is it just coincidence that at each turn when his personal businesses benefited, that country's tariffs were adjusted favorably? For any other person, this would have meant instantly being impeached. So why is Congress and every other politician afraid of Trump and unwilling to take legal action against him?

Can We Ever Have Another Great President Again?

The 250 year history of the United States is replete with bad and great leaders alike, but mostly filled with the mundane. Every person, no matter how great, has their own personal demons, and not a single one has been the perfect model of what, in modern times, we would view as the ideal person. But, there have been some that, for their time, were great. And even fewer that have managed to transcend with some of their biggest accomplishments. In recent years we've had a string of mundane and bad, with the best example of leadership being Barack Obama. Yes, this is just my opinion and I'm sure many of you can argue otherwise, but he is the only person who has had a calming and hopeful tone that should be a basic requirement of someone in an office such as the President.

The last truly great President the United States had was Franklin D. Roosevelt. That was 81 years ago. That's both sad and concerning. Don't get me wrong, he made plenty of mistakes himself and wasn't a perfect person, but at least he was a powerful leader that forged alliances and focused on making the American people better off. Ronald Reagan was also a good President, but I wouldn't necessarily classify him as great. Barack Obama is the same.

In my opinion, any President, or Presidential hopeful, should be looking at these people and trying to emulate the best of what they did: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson.

We Must Avoid Bad Presidents

Make no mistake that history has repeatedly shown that even 1 bad leader can spell doom for an entire country or civilization. But multiples in a row . . . that can be the final nail in the coffin and allow for others to rise up. It is every citizen's duty to prevent horrible people from ever taking any office, let alone the top spot.

In Conclusion

Everyone must do better at electing leaders. Do your research before you vote. Write-in an alternate candidate if none of the primary ones are good. For now, however, I am just one concerned citizen of the United States that is honestly losing faith in his own country and its entire leadership structure. I personally don't blame other countries for finding alternative paths around the United States because of its eccentric and bullying leader.
